Write for 15 minutes
The official first day of lessons starts tomorrow.
For today, I want you to write for 15 minutes, without stopping, ideally in a writer’s notebook. You can choose one of the following prompts, or try all three. We’re warming up your brain for what’s to come in this workshop and for learning to trust your inner voice.
There are no right or wrong ways to answer these.
There are no rules or mistakes. Just write. Don’t stop.
Here are the prompts:
1. “You would never know this by looking at me, but…”
2. “What brings me joy is….”
3. “What breaks my heart is…”
If you’re ready (and I totally get if you’re not, given most of us are just meeting and don’t know each other yet), you can post a bit of your writing from these prompts (up to a few hundred words), in our Group Discussion Forum. You can also just tell us what this process was like for you.
